Gender and Transgender Emergence

One’s gender identity is a subjective sense of one’s own sex.  It may or may not be reflected in one’s body.  I welcome whoever you are and whoever you are becoming.

I listen carefully as my clients describe who they know they are and work with them to find the right expression of that gender identity for them.  I help individuals transition into the gender expression that matches who they are.  I

I support individuals’ choices and provide information and referrals so that my clients can make wise decisions.  When appropriate I write letters to refer clients for hormone replacement therapy and/or surgery.

If indicated, I also provide family therapy to help family members understand the needs of their transgendered family member.

I belong to a team of gender therapists and health professionals in Santa Cruz County.
